In recent years, I become increasingly fed up with gas powered lawn mowers - hard to start, need to maintain each year, mixing oil, stalling...and fatigue in trying to get them going! I finally bought an 18" push hand mower. The modern ones have ergonomic handles, are much easier to push, there is little noise, no mess and they are all round easier to use. I do a 60 by 150 lot with it. You need to make sure the grass does not get too long, but then again, gas mowers are hopeless too in long grass.

I have a solar hot water heater and every day watch the temperature of the water rise well above 40 degrees Celcius! It is amazing to see how much we can collect from one simple evacuated tube system!!!

Solar Palace has provided Solar Water Heat equivalent to preventing the emissions of 2 1/3 cars from our roads! We use ceiling fans and open our doors to manage the store temperature AND only turn on lights when there is not enough day light available for our tasks!

I got rid of my old ice-maker fridge and bought the Energy Saver one. I also gave away my washer and dryer and bought one I can turn on during the night when power is cheaper. My saving dishwasher came with the house that can delay 2-4 or 6 hours. I always run my appliances during the night. Been washing with cold water since I can remember. It is much better for the colors too. I run my Air conditioner only once, since some neighbors burn stuff at night and I can't breath. This should be outlawed to help us with cleaner air! There is not much more I can do to conserved but I am willing to learn more. If we all do our part it will be better for us. Did you know that in 2020 50% of Energy is coming by wind-power in Germany? They also use the garbage for heating whole Apartment Blocks with the power from it. I am so glad that you are working on this program and good Luck!
